LIBRARY PROCEDURES

Students need a pass from a teacher in their passbook to check out to the library. It should be from a teacher for which you need to do an assignment.

Bring passbooks and show them to Mrs. Thompson as you enter the library. There is no sign out from the library except to the office. Have your passbook signed back to study hall.

Do not walk out of the library for any reason without permission.

Students without passes will be sent back.

No talking among students in the library.

Permission to speak may be granted by the librarian.

Sit no more than two per table when you come in.

A student may be asked to sit alone at a table if he/she has shown a tendency to talk or disturb others.

After the first warning about undesirable behavior, a student will be sent back to study-hall and will lose library privileges for two weeks. The principal and teachers will be notified. The second offense results in the loss of library privileges for the rest of the semester.

Students should have a study, reading, or computer research purpose for coming to the library. No games should be played on the computer and students do not have e-mail privileges.

Students should not print information for personal use on school printers.

Students will need a completed Internet form on file in the office to use the Internet in the library.

The school policy will be inforced as determined by the librarian & teacher within the policy guidelines.

Students will not be allowed just to browse the Net for non-assignment purposes for more than a few minutes and then the librarian determines if the subject of the search is appropriate.

Bring study materials and needed supplies because the only check out from the library is to the rest room, guidance office, or the office--not to music, computer labs etc. etc.

Do not leave the library without having your pass signed or without signing out.

Do not leave to get things from your locker without asking the librarian.

One student per computer preferably.

No music players or iTunes with or without headphones.

Bags of candy or food are prohibited. Pick up after yourself.

Students should not go through the library to other classes.

Students should keep the chairs flat on the floor and feet off the furniture.

Students should remain seated until the bell rings.
