Business Class Expectations

1. RESPECT--It is expected that you will respect other's person and property as well as the school's property. Review the harassment policy in your student handbook.

2. PREPARATION--It is expected that you will bring all materials to class that are necessary to be an active, participating member of the class (refer to the supplies list for your class).

3. TARDIES--It is expected that you will be in your seat when the bell rings. Also, remain in your seat until you are dismissed at the end of the period. If a tardy is excused by another teacher, it is your responsibility to bring a pass with you to class. You will not be allowed to leave class once the bell has rung. PLEASE DON'T ASK!! If needed, passes to the nurse will be given but you must be back in class by the end of the period or sooner. These will be given sparingly!

4. TESTS/QUIZZES--It is expected that you take all tests when scheduled. If you are absent on the day of a test, you will be required to make up the test as soon as you return. No credit is given on "pop" (unannounced) quizzes if missed. Announced quizzes follow rule #6.

5. ABSENCES--If an absence is planned, it is your responsibility to get assignments BEFORE you are gone or to make arrangements with the instructor. Make-up work for unplanned absences will be accepted for full credit if it is turned in according to the Student Handbook. This states that you have one day for each day of class missed. For example, if you miss 2 days in a row, you have the next 2 days to complete make-up work.

6. COMPLETION OF ASSIGNMENTS--It is expected that you will attend class regularly and participate in all class activities and assignments. It is your responsibility to get ALL work turned in when due. Turn-in trays are provided and all assignments should be put in these trays. In order to pass the class each quarter, ALL assignments must be completed and turned in, even if they are late. See the Incomplete Policy in your student handbook.

7. LATE ASSIGNMENTS -- Late assignments are those that are handed in anytime past the due time. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE GRADED. However, you must still complete the assignment to the teacher's satisfaction. Otherwise, you will receive an incomplete for the quarter/semester. Failure to complete ALL assignments results in a grade of "F" for the semester.

8. AFTER SCHOOL WORK TIME--If assignments are not complete at the time they are due, students will work in he PC Lab on these assignments until 4:00 every day until they are complete.

9. GRADING SCALE--(Listed above.)

10. COMMUNICATION--Communication is the key to a productive and enjoyable school year. If you have any questions or need additional help, please ask!!! I will gladly meet you at school if you want additional help. If unexpected problems arise which may cause you to have problems with my class, come talk to me. I will work with you on these but you must contact me as soon as you see a problem. Don't wait until class time. This may be too late!!

Remember: Grades are NOT given.
Grades are EARNED by YOU!
