HIGH SCHOOL GENERAL BUSINESS
CLASS
BEGINS THEIR VALENTINE'S DAY
PROJECT
The Manning High School general
business class does a
Valentine's Day project during the months of January
and February. During this project, students sell
items such as cookies, skotcheroos, rice krispy bars,
chocolate strawberries, suckers, teddy bears, candy
roses, real roses, cookies, puppy chow, and a lot
more.
Though this real-life project, students in the
class learn organization, time
management, money management, and sales
and marketing. They also
learn how to work as a team and complete projects
as a
whole. Everyone pitches in
and we always hope to make this class business
profitable.
The profits from this project are
used to purchase supplies for needy students within
our school district. Money is also used to purchase
supplies to be used in classrooms.
The business class sells
these items at the end of January through the middle
of February. Order forms are sent home
with elementary students and made available during
lunch times. Junior high and high school
students pick up order forms from
general business students or during lunch.
On Valentine's Day, the students deliver the ordered
items to the lockers of the junior high and high school
students and to the classrooms of the elementary students.
Once the project is complete, students prepare and
income statement, write a report about the project,
and assemble a project booklet that future classes
can look at for reference.
Thanks to the hard work of
the students, money is raised to help buy school
supplies for students in the Manning Community
School District. The General Business Students
learn important business skills, as well as, learn
about charitable work and team work.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S
DAY!!!
