Classroom
Rules and Expectations
1. No cheating will be tolerated! Do your own work, you will always benefit
from it.
2. Treat others and their property, as you and your property would want to
be treated.
3. No horseplay will be tolerated especially around computer equipment and
lab materials. Equipment is expensive and lab materials are dangerous. They
both
require respect at all times.
4. All make-up work must be completed two days from the day missed. After the
two days, assignments will become delinquent.
5. Students must come prepared for class every day.
6. Students will respect and follow school rules and policies.
7. If tardy, do not disturb the class already in progress.
8. All students are to remain in their seats until the bell rings.
9. Work together with mutual respect. Always be respectful of comments and
ideas of others. Attempt to understand other’s points of view.
Each student should strive for:
Cooperation
Initiative- Don’t wait for the breaks, make them.
Attitude- Success depends on backbone. Not wishbone.
Organization-Organization is the key to success.
Grading Scale
100- 94% = A
93 - 92% = A-
91- 90% = B+
89 - 84% = B
83 - 82% = B-
81 - 80% = C+
79 - 74% = C
73 - 72% = C-
71 - 70% = D+
69 - 64% = D
63 - 62% = D-
< 62% = F
Grading Criteria:
Tests = 50% of your quarter grade.
Homework = 45% of your quarter grade.
Participation = 5% of your quarter grade.
Assignments:
1. Chapter questions will be assigned periodically throughout the semester.
Answers will be required to be completed the next day for discussion and
grading.
2. Chapter reading will be assigned. The daily reading will help with concept
application, being able to complete assignments and in class participation.
3. Chapter quizzes will be given as we finish each section.
4. Chapter test will be given at the end of each chapter.
5. Daily Notes will be collected and graded at the end of each week. Notes
should be in a folder or notebook and at least a 1/2 page per day. No late
notes will
be accepted. Notes must be with you when you come to class. Notes are graded
as a test. All notes should have the day of the week and the date included.
6. Participation will be graded. Points will be given for class discussion,
turned in work, and preparedness for class.
7. Magazine articles are due the day after each chapter test. Magazine articles
need to be one page using the correct assigned format (see magazine handout),
and be about a topic in the chapter just finished.
